  1. Kammie, That's what it's all about young lady...LOVE. Love is an action verb. It's heartfelt, unconditional concern and care for others. I'm so glad you can see this in your mother. As you age I pray you will never forget her love. :)Suzi

  2. Hi Kammie,

You are, without a doubt, a very special young lady! And your mother is a very special parent. You seem to have all the right ingredients to grow and prosper into a fine young woman and adult. Always look to your mother for guidance and of course to Jesus Christ, for all the answers to your problems and to life itself. Always remember that the Bible is the inerrant, infallible Word of God. The only truth we need.

    Many Blessings and Hugs,

    Cynthia

  3. To Kammie and Mom,

I want to thank you for inspiring me, and for restoring some of my faith back in other people.

I transitioned back in 1996, and had surgery in 2000, eleven years ago, beleive it or not, on Halloween..!! I went to university, and now work as a Social Worker helpig other people with their lives, living fairly happily as a woman of 43 getting on with my things.

I am one of those people who fought the system when I was told to wait 15 years for surgery, and one of those who fought for trans rights in the UK during 1995-1999. That was a long time ago :-)

As you say, getting up each morning and going to school was hard for you. All trans people do sadly have a hard time. At the age of 43, this experience of life had tired me down. Because as you say, people can be horrible. I just want to hide under the quilt where I feel safe, but no, I smile and know I have to get on with it - we cant stop..!!

There is a line in a film called Shawshank Redemption, said my the actor, Morgan Freeman. He said "you can get busy dying, or you can get busy living..." I hope one day when you are old enough you will see this great film and realise just how important that line is.

My experience in recent years made me feel that I was not really allowed to be feminine or the be real me because of how other people treat you. This is despite the fact that I look great for an old 43 year old woman..!!

Watching your video opened up some thoughts in my mind that I should, as you say, live my own life :-) I have watched the video several times and it has touched me deep inside, it has open up new emotions and got me thinking and realising all sorts of stuff. I want to thank you for that.

I wish when I was your age, that I had a mom like yours, and I wish I could have transitioned at a young age.... well actually... we both wish we could have been born girls but hey ho it's not to be.

I so hope you get to enjoy your teenage years, you must.... YOU MUST, as it fills me with joy to know that young trans people's lives are now much easier these days, even though it's still hard and a struggle.

I've always said I am going to have some serious words with god in his office when I pass over and go to heaven.... "GOD, WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?" Perhaps we should stage a sit in outside his office door with placards :-)

I have shared your video link with my friend Dr. Allister butler. He is a professor in Social Work and teaches about LGBT youth. I know he doesn't have a teaching film such as yours, and so with your agreement, I've asked him to start using your video in his classes. I dont think you realise just how powerful and important your video is. I am going to write to my employers at Derbyshire County Council that I offer to do some trans awareness training, and I too will use this video. It's so important!

For now, I'm going to lose my weight, and I am goign to 'rekindle' my feminine side again and just like your mom who found herself in you, I am going back to my old feminine roots and remember the feminne lady I want to be, not this jeans and trainers butch looking girl just because I happen to feel safe this way. No hun, not any more.

Your video has seriously changed my perspectives this week.

Feel free to look me up if you need to share thoughts, want advice or just to say hi.

Otherwise, just have a lovely life girl..!!
